I've been wishing I had the time and the "gumption" to make a traditional Nosegay block forever. I love everything about them- their purely vintage flavor, their softness & ingenuity, their wonderful graphic design.
Unfortunately, I am not one to use templates or "Y" seams unless my life depends on it & although its come close, I would have to say that so far my life has never depended on a quilt design! And so began my quest to make this block as close to the vintage one as possible & not use a single template or y-seam. After much mathematical consternation, I am proud to say that I succeeded! You for sure won't want to miss this one!
In the end I have to remind myself that this is indeed a Nosegay block & would look stunning in soft pastels or pink, cream and chocolate, but to me it's merely a luscious dripping ice cream cone! Each one filled with yet another tasty concoction of ice cream & toppings ... yummy!!
